NeoGos P70 consists of galactooligosaccharides standardised in human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) with a proven prebiotic effect. NeoGos P70 is standardised to 70% galactooligosaccharides and 9% 4’-galactosyl-lactose, a unique HMO with proven beneficial effect on the regulation of gut microflora at low dose.

HMOs are complex sugars which were first identified in human milk. They are the third largest solid component in breast milk after fat and lactose and have no direct nutritive function. More than 150 different oligosaccharides have been identified in human milk and they have an overall “prebiotic” effect. This means that they pass undigested into the lower part of the gastrointestinal tract where they promote the growth of beneficial microorganisms, such as bifidobacteria and lactobacilli.

HMOs directly stimulate the immune system by promoting good gut bacteria, strengthen the gut barrier function, and block pathogens. Studied for a long time for their benefits in infant nutrition, HMOs also contribute to the improvement of adult health through the regulation of gut microflora, thereby allowing reinforcement of the immune system and numerous other benefits, including improved digestion and skin health.

Fytexia, in collaboration with NeoCremar a leading company in the field of HMOs based in South Korea, offers NeoGos P70, an ingredient standardized in galactooligosaccharides with a unique profile of HMOs. These galactosyl lactose molecules are described in the literature as efficient at increasing the population of probiotics in the intestine and thus providing, among others, benefits such as enhanced immunity and digestion, and increased absorption of minerals.

NeoGos P70 is supported with several proprietary studies, both in vitro and in vivo, demonstrating its safety of use as well as its beneficial effect in regulating the intestinal microflora and providing prebiotic benefits. These results suggest that NeoGos P70 serves as a good substrate and carbon source for supporting the growth of probiotic bacteria such as Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. casei, Bifidobacterium bifidum and B. longum. NeoGos P70 is demonstrated to be an efficient prebiotic, and its symbiotic benefits are also proven.

A clinical study demonstrating the efficacy of NeoGos P70 in skin health is also available, with significant outcomes on the increase of hydration and photoprotection.

NeoGos P70 has been developed and manufactured in a state-of-the-art facility in Iksan, South Korea. This facility is fully equipped for the production of added-value oligosaccharides and certified for its manufacturing process, food safety, quality control, and consumer satisfaction and can produce grades of galactooligosaccharides according to organic, halal or kosher referentials.

NeoGos P70, used both in infant and adult nutrition, is supported with a Generally Recognised as Safe (GRAS) status in the USA.

NeoGos P70 is suitable for many kinds of different food supplements and functional food applications since its nature makes it technically suitable for processes involving temperature or pH. This prebiotic is already being used in hundreds of finished products worldwide, reinforcing infant formulas or adult nutrition while providing digestive and skin health benefits.
